A Treatment and Prognosis in Sciatica in Elderly Patients(Clinical Followup, Non-surgical Treatment, Surgical Treatment)


Abstract
There are different forms of sciatica, also the clinical course of sciatica is various sciatica is regarded as an acute transient episode triggered in a slowly progressive con-dition. Disc degeneration covers a period of decades. We could regarded of sciatica at the clinic. The purpose of this work was to study the sciatica in elderly patient(over 50yrs of age) on clinical type and treatment(most of all are non-surgical method).
The following questions and results were especially considered;
T. 60 cases of sciatica in the elderly patient(over 50yrs of age) were studied.
2. Especially, the elderly patient with sciatica had intermittent sciatica.
3. Most of all cases were treated with hot pack on the back and epidural injection of Depomedrol.
4. In elderly patient with sciatica most of x-ray findings had spur formations in posterior and anterior margin of the vertebrae.
